Improve QoL & Recover Lost Time

On average, 3.6 days of work are missed annually due to allergies… plus 120.75 hours of lost productivity, per employee, per year. Our treatment plans give your teams back that lost time and improve QoL — with little to no additional costs.

Accessible & Convenient Allergy Care

Skip the line

With only 250 allergists serving 10M allergy sufferers across Canada, wait times to see a traditional allergist sit at 8–12 months (assuming patients can get a referral).

Zero wait times

Biscuit Health is proud to have treated over 1,300 patients across Canada — with zero wait times. We do this by offering mobile allergy testing & at-home treatment with access to our providers via tele-health.

Proven outcomes

Our patients have seen reductions in allergy, asthma and/or eczema symptoms of up to 60% within their first 6 months of treatment — with most of them overcoming their allergies for good after 2 years of treatment.

Little to no costs

Our testing and treatment is typically covered in full by most group benefits plans. This means there are no additional costs to you, or your employees beyond an initial set-up fee (which can be credited back after launch).

FAQs

How does our treatment work?
Biscuit Health uses Sublingual Immunotherapy (SLIT) to help patients overcome their allergies. SLIT has been used effectively for over 30 years in Europe and the USA for long-term treatment of allergies. Similar to allergy shots, SLIT targets the source of allergy symptoms by exposing the body to small amounts of allergens, retraining the body's immune responses over time. Our treatment kits are formulated in a Health Canada Approved facility before being shipped directly to the patients' home. Our allergy experts provide 24/7 support digitally to patients.
How does it compare to allergy shots?

Both our treatment (SLIT) and allergy shots (SCIT) are forms of treatments that involve the repeated administration of allergens to desensitize the immune system — the difference is the method of administration.

Over 30 years of real-world & research evidence shows SLIT to be as effective, if not, more effective than allergy shots when administered correctly.

Our sublingual immunotherapy treatment leads the industry in both safety and concentrations of allergens. Our treatment exceeds the cumulative monthly doses of traditional allergy shots when our dosing schedule is followed (daily), allowing for lower treatment times and costs.

What about Asthma and COPD?
For patients whose Asthma or COPD are triggered by environmental allergies (~80% of asthmatic patients), effective management of allergies can significantly alleviate asthma/COPD symptoms and reduce frequency and severity of asthma (Meyer et al., 2018). Our treatment desensitizes patients' immune systems from your allergens over time. This approach has been proven to reduce both allergic symptoms and asthma severity and push Asthma into remission in patients who complete a full course of treatment (Meyer et al., 2018). We also offer an Asthma Management program prior to treatment for those who have uncontrolled Asthma or severe COPD (as patients need to score "controlled" on our Asthma scale in order to be treated).
Where is Biscuit Health available?
We currently serve all provinces and territories of Canada with the exception of Quebec — which is coming soon.
How does insurance coverage work?
The cost of treatment and testing is covered by the majority of plans, however co-pays and caps vary across policies. Please get in touch with our team to discuss specifics on how we can ensure there is no cost to your employees.
Can you help us measure the impact of this programming?
Absolutely! As a tech-enabled clinic, we collect outcomes data rigorously to ensure our allergy programs provide measurable value to your community and business.
What does the employer program look like?

Our employer program is designed to be as low-lift as possible. We do all the heavy lifting, from employee education resources to insurance billing and can cater a program around your unique workplace's needs. Here is how a typical engagement works:

  1. 1

We'll work together to select 2–3 dates over a month where we'll offer on-site testing at your workplace(s) to your employees and their dependants.

  2. 2

Our team will provide you with co-marketing materials to share with your workforce over email, IM or in-person to ensure employees are aware of on-site testing dates.

  3. 3

Employees and their dependants can drop-in anytime during the selected dates to get tested (this takes 15–20 minutes).

  4. 4

Our team will bill your insurance company directly, there is no cost to the employer or employee.

  5. 5

Test results and treatment options are shared with the employee via email.

  6. 6

Employees can elect to continue with treatment, or pick up anytime in the future.

NOTE: Almost all extended benefits plans will cover 100% of testing costs. For treatment, over 93% of plans will cover costs in full. Employees who have a co-pay for treatment will be informed and can continue with treatment at their discretion.
